Hi all,

I have an Outdoor Air Quality monitor that needs mounting to 110-240V with a 3A fuse. See Attachment for manufacturer installation guide.

Is it possible to simply add a 3A fuse into any old plug and just wire it to the device?

Looking forward to your replies.

Yes, providing the cable is 3 core and you connect all three Line, Neutral and CPC (Earth).

Would be better if it's a permanent installation that it is fed via a fuse connection unit instead of a standard socket outlet, but a standard plug into a standard socket outlet would be fine.

Only other thing to note is you need to put a loop in the cable as a "drip loop" so the water doesn't travel down the cable into the device, or plug.

Thanks, Julie, For the permanent installation I will get an electrician to mount it correctly. I just need to power the unit to set up the device through LoRaWAN at home before going on site.
