I've heard from two people recently (one colleague and one student who was studying level 3 diploma alongside me) that there is a course which Napit offers which (if one already has level 2 & 3 diplomas, and 18th edition and 2391) enables the holder to sign off domestic work i.e. replacement of consumer units and other such work, basically work in domestic premises which is above and beyond that which could be considered to be minor works.

Is anyone aware of such a course? I have searched online, but have not been able to locate this course. I could contact Napit directly, which would probably be one of my next steps, but was hoping some members here might be able to clarify and if so, perhaps share the name of the course I'm referring to so I can investigate it more thoroughly including any prerequisites which I may have missed out.

Thanks in anticipation

Is this the course Experienced Worker Assessment there are a couple of other courses listed but reading the descriptions I think they may have been discontinued due to the EAS changes as there are no available dates

Sorry what is 'ESA changes'?

The Electrotechnical Assessment Specification and Qualifications ( EAS ) guide was last updated in October 2024 as such the courses and qualification requirements for entry to a CPS are being regularly updated and in recent years there has been a push to increase / improve the minimum scheme entry requirements, the guide is worth reading as it will give you an understanding of what you need to gain entry to a CPS

It is difficult to advise those trying to get into the industry as many who have studied or are studying to meet the EAS minimum requirements for CPS entry are finding they are constantly being caught out as minimum qualification levels are raised or adjusted to lift the skills levels across the industry, one of the issues is time or for some a lack of it as the best route into the industry is gaining a more core electrical qualification but this can take a few years to achieve
