Hi All,

To be aware I'm a trainee and not qualified yet but my question is in the regs agri buldings are a special location so need more thought. What cable needs to be used for plugs and lighting? Could you get away with using hituff cable or would it need to be SWA or singles in conduit? I saw it needs to be able to withstand mechanical stress does this also mean metal trunking too?

Many thanks

Much depends on the environment. Is there possibility of mechanical damage, perhaps from vehicles? Will the building house livestock? Many other things to consider.

Usually Swa beware of Earthing system to be used.
May require TT.

Not much chance of damage from vehicles the plugs will be above a shutter concrete wall so only way to hit it is if you had a bucket up 2m high and drove into a wall which was why I was thinking hituff to just stop rodent damage

Hituff is not rodent proof.

Swa, they can destroy the outer layer but rarely attack the armour.
