Are any electricians taking on around castle donington, nottingham and derby?

Ive had enough with current employer, with my supervisor on this job grabbing me around the neck ive had enough and im looking for a new one to carry on my apprenticeship.

I have completed most of the city and guilds 2357 nvq except the portfolio and the am2.

I have my own transport, tools and ppe

How large is the firm you are currently working for? I ask this question as it sounds as if your supervisor is a bit of a bully, can you not go to your boss and tell him rather than leaving?

I had a supervisor like the one you have described, got my own back the only way I could, but that was back in the 60s different now too much PC.

It's just a bit of Horseplay, so just 'accidentally' knee him in the goolies, 'Hahaha...Oh Sorry Boss, just a bit of Horseplay!'

How long have you worked at that firm? If its 12months plus then you should have full employment rights. Keep a written diary of what goes on onsite both verbal abuse and physical. Even if you quit your job you may well have grounds for constructive dismissal.
File a grievance with your supervisors boss and take it from there. If you need more info google ACAS they set guidelines and regs for employment law etc.

I used to work for a bully until I broke his nose, but violence isn't the way to go about things.
Good luck

Shanky, take heed of the advice so far, I would say report him or front the guy an tell him to keep his hands to himself. Shame because we have spoken in previous post's and you are getting some nice work, very good variety, try and hold in there.!!! Good luck

Grabbed you round the neck ????
Rightly or wrongly my reaction would have been to lump him one. I know not everybody is that way inclined and wouldnt react and this is probably why he is being a prik towards you !!!!
I just wonder if he would grab me round the the being 18 stone ???? Doubtful
Well done on reporting him and if anybody should be leaving its him !!!
2 wrongs dont make a right so whacking him would be going to his level. Grrrrr makes me riled up just reading this **** !!!

The problem is because I came to site in his van it would have caused issues later

Otherwise it would have been amusing as the head of estates walked in quite soon after

Agree that you're obviously getting good all round training from posts you make. Speaking from experience, try and stick it out it'll be worth it. Also, as hard as it may be, don't retaliate as you'll be the one with verbal/written warnings or worse still, sacked for gross misconduct and on record too.
Leave them razors at home too!!:smiley2:

Good point jaypp makes..... on the flip side of being bullied by this chump your obviously doing ok there in terms of training as your knowledge comes across here as being very vast. STILL you should not have to be grabbed round the neck as those days are well and truly gone now !!!

He wouldn't have done it with me either and I'm under 11 stone, mind you I can be extremely aggressive when provoked,My only problem is I'm part bulldog, when I get hold I have trouble letting go.the last brawl I had was when some 6 footer hit my mate for no reason,I dropped him with one punch and it took 4 other lads to drag me off.

See the problem is I could have hit him but then I would have needed to book a taxi or something to get my car (im not on fleet insurance)

Shanky Only just had chance to read the thread, and sorry to hear about this D1ck at work, He has no right to do what he did.
Don't retaliate mate play the long game, get it all down on record and do it all above board.
But having said that it doesn't mean that me and a few of the lads off here can't pay him a visit does it now.
Say the word pal and I am sure we can sort something out between us all.

next time he does it crack his jaw for him....

then when you have to go in the office to explain it will all come out about how he thought he could get away with it.....

chances are you will keep your job and he will end up walking...

sorry doesn't matter who he is supervisor or boss anyone puts his hands on me it will not end.

I'm not encouraging violence but just self protection against bullies and tw4ts.

I’m glad the management have listened to you. People don’t realise how big a step it is to go in to the office to do the deed.

There’s been a lot of BS in this thread, smacking the bully only masks the problem and the repercussions if you react it will affect you for years. Believe me, it backfires. I’m saying no more than that.
