'Click and flow' click connector block. Wiring a floor lamp. Female / male socket

Hello, I would like to use a recently bought Click and flow connector block to wire a standard lamp with 3 bulbs.


Reading the instructions have left me confused.


According to the instructions the female socket is 'for fixed wiring supply' but has room for 3 cables to run into this socket. Meanwhile the male plug, 'for appliances', seems to just have room for one cable.

Here it appears to be wired correctly (but not in accordance with the instructions) with female socket for appliance NOT fixed wiring supply and male plug for fixed wiring supply NOT appliances.

Why have they made such an error with the instruction sheet?
BTW, I am a DIY amateur.

It's more a case of understanding what they mean when describing male/female and which is socket. What is confusing you is that the plug has shrouds over the pins which you are now viewing as a socket. If you look from the point of view that the socket is the female part that has electrical receptors, and the part with electrical pins is the male plug then it should now make sense.

I can honestly say looking at the picture i am totally confused. Looking at the lower part (female?) from right to left, brown (live), blue (neutral), grn/yel (cpc), brown?, and only three pins?. Now the male, starting at top left, brown (live), can't see the other two cables or is it one. Even from that picture i couldn't be sure.

looking at the pic, the lower left female has loop in cables. i.e. L/N in, L/N out and switch wire. this is on the supply side. the top male goes to the lamp. if i read the OP right, he wants 1 supply cable in and 3 load cables out, so this connector is not suitable for his purpose.

The outgoing plug is designed for 1 cable to say a downlight etc,if in doubt I would recommend using a local electrician.

Many thanks for your replies. So, if I understand right, this is not suitable to light 3 separate lamps on a standard lamp / floor lamp and earth all the lamp holders. I will continue my search for suitable connectors (unless you have any suggestions). Thanks!

Thanks, although the choice is large. Any ideas to refine my search? I am going to light 3 lamps all with 3-core.
