Hi All, Hope you can offer some advice here.. I have split the single full house ring main (well it was more of a ring and a few extra wires) into two rings (upstairs and downstairs, Kitchen will be getting its own ring) the upstairs ring is totally new so all sockets and spur's fine and catered for. The downstairs one is where i have hit a problem. The extension electrics was done by a builder in 1978 ish so the wiring is not great... In my extension there is two double sockets lets say socket A and socket B

Socket B is spur'd from socket A but there is only one wire from socket A going back to join the ring.

How can i join these two double sockets into the existing down stairs ring without breaking the rules and pulling another cable to socket A? (reason for this is the wire goes diagonal along the joist and down the internal wall between the house and extension so would be a pain to pull another cable which would also be wrong if it followed the path of the existing cable.

Hope this makes sense...

Thanks in advance,

Dave

Find where socket A is spurred of the ring, disconnect cable , add a fused connection unit off existing ring and connect the cable feeding socket A and B to the load side of the fused connection unit with a 13A fuse.

So to double check i would tap into the ring as in the picture above and use a 13a fuse connection unit?

Thanks,
