I don't give a s***t, I'll be 83 by then. At least when I'm sat on the bench, with me bottle shouting at the traffic, the drivers of these electric vehicles, will hear my profanities

I'm gonna get a stocking great diesel generator to charge my clean electric car!!!

Stop flapping, you lot, here in Mcr,we invent for fun...by then i'll have a Graphene 4 x 4 electric Patrol...that will do 450 miles just by rubbing two kittens together...

NB: No actual kittens were hurt, during the formation of this analogy.

Kittens???

Bahh, I'll do 1000miles with 2 mice..

I will most likely have long departed this mortal coil by 2040 so am not going to be affected. I'm much more interested in how much the government will bribe me with to scrap my 10 year-old Astravan. I'm not accepting a penny less than two grand. If they offer me a lousy grand as is expected, then I will continue to pollute the Glasgow air until my van dies a natural death.:D

I do wonder what devious plans the bean counters in the Treasury will devise so to offset the loss of fuel duty revenue which currently nets the robbing bar stewards £27.6 billion per annum.

If the worst comes to the worst they can just get some massive diesel generators and put them at the end of everyone's roads to cope with peak demand... ;)

Buy Aggreko!

Should be alright with a bit of Waxoyl & WD40.

I drive a 100% electric Nissan van... It works for me as I only do local jobs anyway, up to 20 miles away. Apart from low running costs and pollution free, it's 100% tax deductible too
On the Electricity demand side, it's mostly charged overnight at home so cheaper rate used and not much demand on the grid between 1 - 6am..

Cheers for the input, but it is not "pollution free"...not if it has been constructed with processed plastic, metals, paint, glues, fabric, oils and greases, and uses or requires electric charging generated by conventional means. Let us not forget the decommissioning of the several battery packs it should use during it's life cycle...then the vehicle itself....

In truth, the only truly pollution free part,is the travelling done,in between charges...if it does not leak any oil from it's gearbox :)
