I am looking for some buying advise.
I wish to change all the existing incandescent lamp fittings in my house to LEDs.
Each of the bedrooms will have one central, largish, ceiling LED fitting, simple design, round or square.
Two bedrooms are large, 13 x 15ft, then the smaller bedroom, which will become an office is 10 x 9 ft.
Buying LEDs isn't the issue, I have looked online and will settle either on 24 or 36W fittings but will that be bright enough for the large bedrooms or will I need to double up.
I note most of the lamp fittings I have viewed, ( 24 -36W ), boast 20,000 hours which apparently is the equivalent to 11 years at 5 hours a day.
OK for bedrooms I guess but I'm thinking of the smaller bedroom-come office, that light will be in constant use, so looking for 24W +, 50 – 60000 Hrs, does such a fitting exist? I had a good look, couldn't find anything.
The fittings I viewed via eBay, Amazon and such likes, pretty cheap and with the adage ringing in my ears, " pay peanuts,--- " but they all appear to be around the same price, same quality, same spec", what should I be looking at when buying, I'm thinking about quality of drivers, any fire safety considerations?
