Anyone have any clues? Faithful Brother P7600 stopped working, won't turn on. Assumed that the rechargeable unit has had it (it's certainly old enough) so removed and put fresh AA's in. Still won't turn on - display lights up, sometimes does an 'all pixels' kind of thing but never actually boots up. Metered the batteries when fitted and 6 x AA's at around 1.65v each drop down to only 7v, so something's happening...... I was hoping maybe it just hadn't liked being in the cold (it's been in my store unused for maybe a month) but a holiday into my nice warm kitchen has done nothing.

Best thing I can think of are the usual failure points of dry joints and dried out electrolytic capacitors maybe.

I may have been hasty….. after what must have been at least an hour plugged in on charge with no charge light lit it suddenly started to charge and several hours later appears to be normal again (this was all in the 23-24C warmth of an Aga-driven kitchen). I’ll obviously monitor closely but my suspicion reverts to cold/damp.

I love my 7600, the battery pack lasts ages! Shame it's now an obsolete model.
