Pat job questions

Hi all got asked to do a pat job for client I under stand what I'm looking for check plug,fuse ,Lead,apliance for damage use pat machine we have this metro pat yellow box with three test buttons earth bond with a fuse selection and clamp I think pick half of rated fuse , insulation resistance and earth continuity my question is what is a bad earth coninuty result I rember microwaves gave high readings not to much intrested in job but for pice of mind would like to know more about pat

Looks like that altho 3 test functions and yellow

Earth continuity should not exceed 0.1 + R, where R is the continuity of the cpc in the supply cord and 0.1 is the resistance of the appliance minus the cord.
I doubt that has helped you at all as from your post I get the impression you are not competent you carry out the task required of you.

Na I'm a skilled person now pal just haven't talked about it since I was in collage and wanting to know more about it see a bit of company's just slapping on stickers left right and center eg pass sticker on old type plug with uninsulated l-n and so

I suggest a copy of the Code of Practice for in service testing of appliances by the IET.

What's wrong with that? The Code of Practice specifically states that they are permitted to remain in service - the unsleeved plugs simply cannot be reused.
