the concept being to prove wether somethings EXTRANOIUS or not....and as such....wether you`l bond it.....or not....

Ah, never heard it called that before! Don't ask what made me think I had to pull it but for some reason I thought whole installation had to be isolated.

well....the prob you may have is things like knockout boxes...being connected to the installs MET....through the CPCs...but also being connected to earth...through the fabric of the building...so....
look....the point of it is to prove wether a supposed/suspected extranious conductive part (see definitions) is.....or not....

So the bullit stays in. I'll do this test & shall have my answers. Man I wish I was still doing maintenance, lol.
 
anyway.....knockout boxes would be considered exposed conductive parts....due to the 3.5mm screws securing fronts....
so take no notice of what i said at #65....lol...
anyway....off watchin football on iplayer...

Yeah no need to pull the main, just ir test between MET and the frame and if the reading is below 22 k ohms bond it if its above leave it
 
Did the IR test today. 0.01 mega ohms so bonding it is!
