I realise this was briefly mentioned in another topic, but thought i'd start a new thread too see what your opinions of this are?

Elecsa. NICEIC and ECA have now formed the Electrical Safety Register.....and other's are on other registers....

It is an improvement because i, along with many other people on here have always said we should go the way of GasSafe....

But i ask why can they not all merge, you're either an electrician or you're not. Its as simple as that too me, so why can't these guys see this and all unite! Ridiculous.

Does everyone agree with the new 'Electrical Safety Register' ? Or isit still just as jumbled as before.....

P.S....On an annoying note, ELECSA sent me my new Electrical Safety Register sticker through the post.........cleaned my van down, went to stick it on and the wind took it and its like basically vertical, annoying! ....all i can say is they've made them stickers bloody sticky, literally doesn't come off. Brilliant!

Not sure what to make of it TBH, there is so many schemes and scams going on I am punch drunk about it all, still confused about part pee too, how someone can get that and not be a spark, oh it's just all too much for me, I'm going for a lie down.

Tell me about it!!! There's a Gas man around the area i live in, who has all his qualifications bulletpointed down the back of his van....the last one says 'Qualifed Part P Electrical' ****es me right off

I have posted a reply to this in another thread but thought it should be shared here and anywhere else so that everyone gets to see it so we can sort this madness out asap ...

Here are the links ...

This is the NAPIT one ... that everyone can join - FREE
ElectricSafe Register - Electricians you can trust

This is the OTHER one that only their members can join
Electrical Safety Register - Find your local, registered electrical contractor

I guess this is gonna make it easier for the public to choose from ...
What also gets me is that because I cannot join the OTHER one, if a member of the public sees my van and company name and looks it up on the WRONG register then they won't find me there and could conclude that I am a 'cowboy' and not registered ... great for my business !
This needs to be sorted asap because it is very biased and is not good for the industry !!!

Perhaps this can be made into a sticky or into a new thread unless it already has been (Admin ?)

Why didn't you LOOK before posting!

Would have if I had more time to spend trawling through all the threads. Posted it in the heat of the moment.
I am now looking at previous posts to see how much of a feeling other people have about this subject.
Plus it was my last point that I thought should be made clear as I feel this is the biggest injustice!
Anyways .. back to the original subject on this thread now!

Still can't believe you can install a CU for £150 and do it from scratch with all what it entails...

I dunno what your worried about, neither scheme has anything to do with safety what-so-ever, they are just promotional jargon.

How can it serve the public, when all these scheme providers allow the unqualified and inexperienced to be registered within their schemes, it's all just another marketing farce...

As for the cowboy bit, being registered with any scheme provider doesn't preclude you from NOT being a cowboy, for the same reason i gave above. It's a crap shoot for the general public these days, whether they get a fully qualified electrician or a 17 day whizz kid, that was stacking Tesco shelves a little over a fortnight earlier!!

Safety of house is first need for everyone and it could be maintain by registering good electrical services. I prefer (spam removed) to all of you for getting betting electrical installation services for domestic and commercial purpose. They have expert electrical engineers and contractors which will give their best knowledge regarding electrical installations.

And exactly how would you know that then?? Sounds more like, you work for them, or even have some kind of financial stake in this company!! lol!!
