Hello, i would like to cover the meter under the stairs, but i am worried about H&S and regulations, etc...
Is there something to prevent me from closing it ? i will make it easily accesible of ofcourse for access, so i can remove the cover when needed.
EON said they are looking to replace it with a smart meter and move it outside "in the near future".

Thanks

It would be much better to be boxed in a bit, to avoid it being hit as you take things in and out of the cupboard.

But I would advise something easy to remove… not just a little door.
Like the whole frame, and panels can be moved as one…. And not screwed down.

Yes you can enclose it, but ideally whatever you enclose it with should be completely removable so that anyone working on it has the same amount of clear access as is shown in the picture.

Can i do a wooden box around it and leave let's say 1/2 inches from the meter to the wood? would that be safe ? i will look to make the whole panel detachable and not screwed to the wall.

What ever you do it needs to be assessable, I would make a cupboard with doors.
