Hi there

I am doing my EAL level 3 Pat Testing Course and the sampleexam papers we are being given are City and Guilds. Someone I know who took the EAL course toldme that the questions are set out in quite a different way from City andGuilds. Is there any way of getting holdof some EAL past papers online etc.
Thanks

Level 3....No way on this earth, is a Pat test qualification worth anything like a level 3 standing. even less so when it's a EAL qualification!!

Eng, they're just meaningless numbers!
As long as everyone's gaining qualifications and not signing on...
Got to keep that Unemployment figure to a minimum!!! :smilielol5:

Just out of interest, how long is the PAT course you are taking?

Its just a three day course

I'm glad about that, I thought for a minute someone was trying to rip you off with a long course or something like that, my company sent some of us on the C&GS one, it was very easy to pass, a written exam and a short practical test, sorry if I seem negative, but I considered it a waste of time, as PAT does NOT require you to be qualified, just competent, anyway good luck, there is a book you can get from the IET if you really want to go to the expence, have you tried google? they may have some example questions.

EAL C&G take your pick they are identical, and the exam questions are just about the same give or take. They are all based on the "CoP 4th edition for inservice inspection and testing of electrical equipment" and this is the book to have. Which ever one you do, it will have the same QCF number on the certificate.

I don't know if you do any PAT testing, but if you do, tread carefully in the exam. Most of the people on my courses who fail, are more than competent testers, but they have been doing it so long, they do things differently from what the book says. This isn't bad, as usually what they do is better than what the book ask for. But the exam answers all come form the facts in the book. As with any of these exams, EAL or C&G read the bloody question properly, and if you aren't sure, look it up, it is an open book exam.
