Hi all,

I have been asked to design the electrics for a portable coffee trolley that is in development. It will have 7 different pieces of equipment on it (coffee grinders, water pump etc..) and will be run off a standard 3 pin 13A plug.

The total power of all the equipment comes to 14.5A. Can I safely assume the use of electrical diversity, and say that all pieces of equipment will not all be at full power at the same time?

A bit of a weird one I know. But thanks.

There is no need to assume, you know exactly what each piece of equipment which makes up this unit is, so you can work out the applicable diversity based on the load profiles of the individual items.
You just have to put pen to paper and do a bit of thinking.

Probabably not a good idea, if it go's phutt in use what does your insurance cover. I've recently been in hospital and they have electric food trollies, worth looking at but might be expensive.

Ok,
Who is going to do the CE approval and type testing on this, get it wrong and it is up to a £20,000 fine and or 6 months of porridge.
