Shops in petrol stations

Hi, can anyone advise if Compex 07/08 is required to carry out work within a shop serving a petrol forecourt - I've been asked to install cctv within the shop only (no external cameras), but I don't have Compex. I can sub it if required, but there is a potential of three other sites.Thanks.

if its nothing to do with the pumps or fuel then i don't think you would need compex

As said, as long as you are not working on the pumps and associated equipment then shouldn't be any issues.

petrol stations have zoned areas within which there are limits to what electrical equipment can be installed, so you need to see the sites drawing of the zoned areas to begin any work

Pfs card isit you need... A guy showed it to me recently and we didn't touch the pumps , but did do forecourt lights..

SPA passport is a voluntary scheme.

If the Forecourt i.e pumps are owned by a National Retailer eg Esso,(even if the shop is Tesco) Bp, you will need a passport, 1 day falling asleep basic H&S plus 1 day specific to petroleum risks.
You will also need the paperwork, Method statments etc.

Other petrol retailers may want it.
If it's a small independant group they are unlikely to want it, but the only way to find out is to ask the person you are doing the work for.

The shop would not be in any of the zones so no just normal methods would apply

No.. U'd have forecourt engineers to work on the pumps! The shop is just a commercial premesis

Any internal areas will all be safe/ none hazardous areas pal.....
