Hi we noticed our solar must have fused and tripped out the consumer unit for most of September which is really annoying - all that sun! we reset and now it has done it 3 times over this week. What could be the cause? we have never had any problems. We live in Swindon but the installation was done by a Taunton company. Photo of set up attached. Would appreciate some ideas of what to do probably out of warranty...

not into solar, but my first suspect would be the inverter. is it tripping a MCB or a RCD? check out out electricians directory and find one who does solar close to you. a short visit to ascertain the problem is not expensive.

what's it tripping? RCD or MCB?

If the RCD is tripping ( this protection device has a test button on it) then it could just be a case of changing it for a RCD that has a higher mA tolerance. 30MA can nuisance trip a lot on solar PV inverters. If an MCB is tripping it would be a good bet it is an internal fault in the inverter. What inverter do you have?
