Unusual Halogen Transformer help.

Hi,
I've joined to pick the collective brains on here:wink5:

I've got a lighting set up bought from Habitat a few years ago.
It consists of a big drum transformer, it has two steel wires which span the room and five halogen bulb holders attach to this.
It appears the transformer died the other day, but the lights have long been discontinued.

Anyone know if I can get a suitable unit to use to power these lights?

Is that one of the transformers that attaches to the ceiling then feeds the track or is it somewhere hidden?

Personally I'd convert it to LED but if it's hidden any electrical wholesaler stocks suitable transformers. One of the commercial folk will know a better source if its on display, I don't know of any that are not stupid money

It's currently designed to fit to the ceiling but it's not an attractive thing, so I thinking of getting something I can hide.

Any SELV transformer would do. If you intend to stick to using 35W lamps then a 0-200VA would be more than suitable, up to 300VA would be needed if you were planning on using 50W lamps. If it can be kept accessible then you could hide it in the ceiling and just connect to your two ceiling span cables below.
