Hi,

During these tricky times I decided I needed a drinks cabinet and so bought a vintage Beautility from Ebay. It looks great but the interior cabinet light doesn't function. It's supposed to come on when the door opens and the top of the cabinet puts pressure on the switch turning the light on.

Obviously the wiring needs replacing. Any suggestions on what I need? Also the pressure switch, I am also unsure on how that operates the light, there is no wires connected to the strip light holder.

I don't want to blow up my booze so any help will be much appreciated. Thanks!

I would replace the light fitting with an led unit, low voltage, put the transformer behind the cabinet so out of sight.

an hours work for a local spark?

I bet the original switch works fine, they were well built back in the day.

The wiring will be built into the cabinet. Well hidden.
I would go with 12v LED as well.
Nothing worse than warm alcohol
