Hi all -

So, I've been in this house a few years, and am still in the process of cleaning up the "sillies" that the former owner did. The picture below is an exterior wall; if you can see, someone just poked Romex through a hole, and fed it into some conduit.

What is the correct way for this to be done? I believe that the other side of the wall has a receptacle box, so any solution will have to be surface mount. There should be a stud to the immediate right of this hole.

It’s not even sleeved with PVC conduit. Yes when you go through brick walls you can sleeve it with PVC conduit but that job is ugly. This is what it should look. A job I did last month

Is sleeving just what it sounds like, or does the sleeve need to be anchored somehow?
