Hi all,

so as the title says, i'm coming to the end of my level 3 and i know i will be thrown in to the big wide world of electrics and i'm starting to feel a bit nervous, i've got some domestic experience but with electrics there is so much to learn, and i'm starting to feel a bit overwhelmed i don't wanna end up going out making a pleb of myself or doing something stupid.

So what would be the best step after this collage course is finished? get on with an agency? and will they expect me to know much more than i've learned at collage?

Cheers.

Try and find work as a mate maybe the best bet to gain that valuable experience.

There is always more to learn, but as you have had some domestic experience this will help a lot. Have confidence in your technical knowledge, but be prepared to have to ask questions on the practical side, this should be expected if you are going in as a mate.
Do not worry everyone does make mistakes, just try and ensure they are not big ones!
Good luck.

You've got a good attitude. Can't stand an overly cocky Sparks who just doesn't have respect or knowledge with what they are working with.

What's even worst is a Sparks who lacks both!

I'd take a cautious, grounded, respectful and dedicated Sparks any day. All of which you seem to have evidence off.

You'll no doubt find your level and progress accordingly without putting yourself or others in danger.

Thanks for the comments.

ye I am trying to learn as much as possible and ask as many questions as I can, I just can’t wait to get out there now and start putting what I learned in to practice while still learning, what really intrigued me into this trade was it’s a job where you never really stop learning and no job or day is really ever the same I imagine and that is exciting for me in my new career.

Cheers

Hi mate,

will having only domestic experience make it difficult to find work as a mate, most of the jobs i've seen advertised are for mates with agencies but on commercial stuff, but this is what i want to get into the commercial and industrial side.

cheers
