I've encountered a couple of problematic 30mA RCD's recently, they've both passed the 1/2x, 1x & 5x tests but when I ramp them they've been >45mA, which I guess is my tester's limit on the 30mA's, they were different makes by the way.
Replacing them has cured the freaky tripping but I'm not sure why they should trip at 1x but not at 1x when ramped?

I ve heard of some recalls lately but that might be only Spanish Stock. Must say I had a strange RCD the other week was doing my head in so in the end took it back. Sometimes these things are just out there to stress us out.
