Sorry if this has been asked a hundred times I cant find it, however, I am slightly confused having read FIT payments on the governments website. I had a system and installed in 2011 prior to reduction notice and currently get in the region of 45p per unit which is index linked for 25 years. Then I read a document to my horror saying it would reduce to 21p in year 3 - I could be reading this incorrectly but I am really worried as I actually borrowed the money against my mortgage and the 21p wouldn't cover it. Thanks Duncan

don't worry, you've almost certainly misinterpreted whatever you've read, but please provide a link and I or someone will explain why / how.

Unfortunately they have turned it from an incredibly simply system into the most complex system anyone could possibly devise, all in the space of a few months last year.

2010/11 is FIT year 1 2013/14 is FIT year 4, see these two documents:

from what youy've said, your system was installed in FIT year 2

https://www.electriciansforums.net/...le-201-20april-202013-20pv-20only-pdf.120381/

and this one for NEW systems being installed NOW https://www.electriciansforums.net/...ble-201-20july-202013-20pv-20only-pdf.120382/

And it will be clear as mud !

So if you correclty applied for your Feed in Tarrif "After 1 April 2011 and before 3 March 2012" and the system is "Solar photovoltaic with Total Installed Capacity of 4kW or less, where attached to or wired to provide electricity to a building which is already occupied" (at the time of the FiT application, then for the elctrcity generated during 2013/14 you will be paid 46.81p/kWh and for exporting 3.30p/kWh (deemed at 50% of what you generate) - make sure you OPT OUT of any offer to install a smart meter else they'll measure your esport. - Smart meters are NOT compulsory.

The Feed In Tariff did indeed reduce to 21p in year 3 (2012/13) - FOR NEW SYSTEMS INSTALLED AT THAT TIME - your rate is locked in (unless the Government passes a new Act)

Really? So No index linking at all for the 25 years? So the forecast my installer gave me (index linked assuming "x" inflation) is in fact total and utter bobbins and Im destined to get 21p/kWh for the next 25 years.
Sheesh.:rolleyes2:
Yet again my installer:censored:

no, have a look at the table worcester linked to, the 21p rate has already gone up to 21.65p

Ahh, I misconstrued!
I thought you meant it was locked to 21p for the rest of time!
21.65p! We eat tonight!!!

(actually its generating enough for a good family take away each week at the moment, so thats not far off the truth!)

Thank you for clearing that up.
