Hi team, I'm after some installation advice.
I am a spark, city & guilds 2365 L2 & L3, AM2 next month and just starting out on my own over the last few months.
I've been asked by a customer to install some uplighters / walk over lights in a conservatory. The floor hasn't been laid yet, but is imminent, (I've had three days notice). Concrete is due to go down with tiles / thin slabs due to be laid on top. They've asked for around 10 x GU10 walkover lights. The conservatory, walls and ceiling are completely glass. I was planning to run a switched fused spur from a nearby socket, and run the conservatory in steel conduit down the wall which is naked brick and then into the concrete floor.
Tapping on on the more experienced among you, is there is chemical reason I can't put steel conduit down and allow the concrete to set around it? I was thinking to put T pieces down at each light and run it in singles. But here's my main question, at the point of each light at the T piece - how would you prepare for the light fitting? The customer tells me that the concrete and the tiles combined are around 80mm in depth.
TT installation in case it's relevant, RCD main switch.
Any insight at all gratefully received.
