Hi Chaps, priced a job at a bungalow for running in a new supply for induction hob. 4mm supply about 40m with isolation switch, cable to fish down space behind boxing in and connect up hob and remove old one.
Also add a socket for heater and light in a cupboard off existing supplies.

Job was won at £240.00

What would have you priced it at as i was higher?
Just enquiring as re checking my pricing schedule!

Cheers guys!

Does the guy who won the job have PL insurance and issue receipts and EICs??????

Impossible to say without looking at the job.

What was your price?

Did the winner pay any tax and NI?

If your happy with the price you put in then I wouldn't be worrying about it. IMO you want to stay clear of the customers that always want to take the lowest quote anyway. If you present yourself well when going to quote and can quickly build up rapport with your potential customer that's half the battle won when quoting a job as this will be taken in to consideration and not just the lowest quote with the type of customer you want.

Yeah i do have good rapport with customers and got on well, he said he got a cert etc but i guess the guy is maybe starting out as with materials and labour i would say his going £150 day?
I priced it at £340 which maybe was high but I'm over scrambling in lofts for pittance.

I would say £340 sounds a tad high for round my area, but as Murdoch says it's impossible to say without seeing the job. Stick to your prices and get the customers you want. If you are losing a lot of jobs then you are going to have to reel it in a bit, but if you have enough work then don't worry about it too much.
Some people feel more productive if they work every day for a scraping. I'm happy to work less often but get more highly paid when I do. After all, like that bird on the shampoo advert, I'm worth it.
