I know this isn't the correct place for this and it should be in the alarm forum, but I was just hoping more people may see it

fitted a scantronic I-on 16 panel today, got it up and running but getting a bell box tamper fault on the display screen,
think I have it wired correctly and the red led on the bell box is indicating which normally shows the bell box I'd satisfied.

what I have wired is
0v on the panel to v- on the bell box
12v on the panel to v+ on the bell box
Output 1 (which I think is trigger -ve) on the panel to sw- on the bell box
Output 2 (which I think is strobe -ve) on the panel to st- on the bell box
TR on the panel to R- on the bell box

I have also tried linking out the tr and removing the bell box but it is still showing a fault

thanks

Hi,
what type/make of sounder have you used? From memory you have the correct connections. Have you checked any rear or lid tampers for good connections?

Regards.

get your meter set on dc volts. + on 12V+ and - probe on R- on the panel. should get 13V. some bell boxes require you to link 0V to the tamper. another usual cause is the back tamper on the box not being made due to the arm needing a little bending.

I have used a Honeywell sounder, as you probably know the connections on the bell are different to those on the instruction manual
the bell seemed to be working ok and the led was lit.
i had the screw on the bell box to simulate the cover been fitted and the control panel tamper taped down.

cant understand why it was still showing a fault when I removed the bell box completely and put the link back in.
i have fitted this panel twice before and never had this problem

thanks for your help

tried this tel and yes I was getting 14v. Still had a problem even with the bell box linked out.
Got me scratching my head,
did think that it may be a blown bell box fuse, but can't find any on this panel.
May have to phone cooper technical Monday morning.

if you link out the Ov and R- in the panel and still have a fault, it's the panel. if the bell fuse had gone, you would not get a + to the bell.

yeah tried that and still have a problem, can't see any fuses.
Just wondered if a needed to do a full reset of the panel

thanks for the help
