Discuss type of paperwork for test in the Periodic Inspection Reporting & Certification area at ElectriciansForums.net

I carried out a vvisual condition report on a medium sized commercial premises a couple of weeks ago

To cut a long story short the switchgear and db`s were rubbish with shields missing, a cover missing and rusty etc, priced for replacement switchgear which was accepted, as required I tested every single circuit and re verified the 3 rfc`s, everything is now ok

An EIC plus schedules were provided as required for the db changes, the insurance company is asking for a pir plus schedules in addition to the EIC, am I wrong in saying this is not required as the EIC covers the complete installation

I would have said you were technically correct, however he who pays the piper.....

It would not be too difficult to fill the PIR sheet in, as you already have the SoTR and SoI sheets and all of the information required, and you will have already made everything good that was wrong (wouldn't you?).

So in this case I would just fill out the PIR to keep them happy.
This situation is probably due to someone non-technical behind a desk, and arguing the ---- will likely not get you anywhere.

thankyou, you are right of course, I was peed off with the people who think they know our jobs telling us who do know our jobs, everything has been rectified, I will just copy over to the pir and send it off as asatifactory installation
