They can still be used under the 17th, think the web page is old. Use them all the time for any connections that will become inaccessible.

hi guys
which out of there range would you use to change a fitting over from a 3 plate to a class1 fitting so you can hide the loop in the ceiling void and would provide the adequate protection required cheers

The Wagos still need to be place in a suitable enclosure even though they are maintainence free. Personally I just use the lever type at the moment.

Are the mounting holes in the same position on the new fitting as the old rose?

yes mate the mounting holes in same position
but how would you get the enclosure through the hole in ceiling without making a larger hole ie damaging the ceiling which is artexed when you cant get access from above

In the past I have screwed the mouting bar between the ceiling and rose, then with the pendant removed, then wired the new fitting to where the pendant was wired.

Didn't have to mess around then trying to cram loads of connectors in behind the base of the fitting.

there would be no room as the fittings arent that deep where the connections are and will possibly cause pressure faults
I was just wanting to know how to get the enclosure through the hole without damage so all the loops are in the void and protected from mechanical strain etc think it would be easier to just try and do the connections in the fitting in the past we just used connector blocks but I know this is a no no now
the wagos would be perfect if you can get access from above or fittng downlights but without creating damage to the ceiling to get the wago enclosure through
is there not a slim chock box or similar

I use Helacon connectors for same applications. Rated at 24a, so good for extending/spurring rings.

what's wrong with a choc block in tyhe fitting. it is accessible.

nothing if you can get all the conductors in the fitting plus without trapping them or if the there are 4 T/E gets a bit tight

hi mate just had a look these are similar to the wago ones and they would still need to be in a enclosure if installed in the void between floors so looks like i will have to put them in the connector block supplied in the fitting

i just love the things great invention takes up so little space in light switches ideal in light fittings for the loops when you only have a terminal block with 3 connections made my self a box up metal storage box with all the sizes
