Hello all,

Ok so i have finished my level 2 2365 and going back to collage to do my lvl 3 on the 6th of sept.

I know its a bit early to be thinking after i finish my lvl 3 but My question is, what would be the next step after i finish it? should i start sending my CV to company's? the problem i have is i have no electrical exp, should i offer my services for free while at collage a few days a week to gain that valuable exp? would they expect me to have my own tools etc? would they be willing to take me on with no experience?

Any tips or advice greatly appreciated

Cheers
Dean

I think all of the above and more. Maybe wholesalers, advertise yourself, beg on the forum take up a billboard, advertise in locals, use your imagination, advertise in shops leaflet electrical firms and so on.

Cheers thanks for The reply, do you think I will need my own tools to have a better chance of someone taking me on? Also what tools would i need to start out?

what tools
My apprentice tool backack - http://www.electriciansforums.co.uk/threads/my-apprentice-tool-backack.122378/
Of course! the more you have the more it shows you are serious the less the person employing you has to worry about. I have a couple of people working for me occasionally, one is so poor I bought the basic tool set for them it costs a couple of hundred quid in all. That is for decent tools that do the job I mean. But check the thread there are ways to get all the tools you need much cheaper.

Surely the whole point of this lark is as an excuse to buy you own tools! :D
