hi everyone,
just want to know if it ok to wire 3 pir floods off immersion ie 16a at ccu but fused down to 5a with sw/f/spur is it poss to wire two fused spurs then to two seperate switches two floods on 1x 2 g 2way from 1 sw/f/spur and one of the other is this ok as impossible to get back to mains through wood flooring upstairs then 1mm to individual switches from each fused spur then into loft at point where they leave the building will use adaptable boxes with 1mm flex to the outside lights is this ok or anybody else any ideas

The idea is ok but dont forget you may require rcd protection for the whole circuit, is it possible to fit rcbo instead of mcb if not run through a rcd unit in an enclosure next to the consumer unit.

all house r.c.d protected split load 80a rcd one side 40a other ,80 a rcd has40a for 9.5kw shower 32a for sockets all house 32a cooker unused as got gas cooker and 16a for unused immersion no cylinder combi boiler other 40a rcd got upstairs & downstairs lights only so is that ok to connect two fused spurs goig to individual switches do i have to put labels saying fit 5a fuses only

When it is possible for customer to fit wrong fuse it should be labled in some way to say what size fuse is required, but as you have rcd cover anyway the job you suggest sounds good on paper.

cheers darkwood thought it was ok but as im fitting two fused spurs wasnt sure three 500w of one fused spur would be to great of a load so to do continuity test do i test as two halves ie test from ccu to fused spur 2.5mm then test from fused spur to outside light as seperate as from spur its 1mm or do i just test whole circuit as one and test at all the points recording highest which will be at light connections how do i record this on cert as 2.5 or 1mm or do i just put 2.5mm as the 1mm is the point of fixed electrical equipment cheers for your help

You could always wire it in 1.5 from 1 sw/f spur then fit a 10amp fuse and mark accordingly, or a far as i remember you could fit a 10amp at fuseboard and use a joint to reduce cable but this method must be clearly marked up and written in the cert, usually a method i avoid.
Test the end of both legs and write down the highest reading and ive in the past written both sizes in the small box[ 2.5/1.5] and never been told otherwise.

think i stick to original plan 2 fused spurs and seperate switches and use existing 2.5 then 1mm as i also going to run loft lights of it or might run them seperate of existing upstairs lights what you reckon cheers for your help mate good to know you can get answers quick i been involved in elecy work 23 yrs on and of mainly new build in 90s and little rewires and commercial never finished my apprenticeship doh what a stupid 16-17 yr old muppet i was been back to it a few times and also done some commercial mantainance work then my partner was left disabled 2005 after private op so in july decided to pay private for elecy course doingc&g 17th edition,2393 building regs,2377 pat testing and part p as jokecentre wouldnt help the for last 4 month been trying to get help of jobcentre to go self employed only to find out last friday of business link i am not eligible as i am a carer for my partner have to been signig on for 6 moth if only they told me that four month ago as i asked then in feb would have been eligible for referal to inbiz to help with start up help they k???? now doing a short course on bookeeping and stuff hope to go self employed sometime in the new year looks like i will have to tap big bruv whos loaded to help me out thanks for your help mate much appreciated darkwood and sintra
