Hi Folks,
As amendment 3 has been introduced in part to contain potential electrical fires from supposed 'dodgy' Connections in the CU by electricians by enclosing in metal, does anyone know if smart meters will also fall into this category? as we all know the meter operators as a rule do not use electricians and they are terminating into a plastic enclosures with 25mm tails usually, I personally would take my chances with a qualified spark on a plastic CU than a non qualified one fitting a meter into my house.

Is that an pop at meter fixers then.? I myself is one but also an Electrician, been industry over 35 years, the reason I choose to fit meter's because getting on a bit. lol Yes your in safe hands with me

Your an Electrician that fits meters, it 's some of the "Trained " ex shelf stackers, pen pushers etc meter fitters that seem to cause issues.

And to the O.P, where in the Regs are Suppliers meters regulated?

As far as I know..which is very little......but the regs are aimed at consumer units. However new laws come in 2016 for meters that are used to bill customers ie Landlords meters
