Conduit back boxes 16mm knockouts

Don't suppose anybody knows where I can source some 2 gang metal back boxes that are compatible with the old steel conduit systems? Basically need to change a 1 gang to a 2 gang but local wholesalers can't seem to locate anything. The old conduit is about 16mm diameter so knockouts need to fit this.

You'll have to get a little bit creative I suspect, is the conduit the cpc?

There's really not much hope of adapting it, to get under the floor is a no go as she's put down laminated flooring over hatch!! There's no play in the conduit either, must be saddled underneath.

No they are conduit adapters, imperial to metric, like couplers. Not boxes of them just 2.

You've got to maintain a good connection then. How does the box connect to the conduit currently? Is it the old old cast iron box or is it bush and coupler onto a more modern style box?
Your only option may be to mount a twin surface box over the front of it.

They might be 5/8 don't know Dave had them for years, yeah just posted the 3/4 and they don't look like them.

It's a more modern style box attached by bush & coupler, would still say it's about 20 years old at least though.

then make a suitably sized hole in the new box and fit it in the same way!

Blank the single coupler off to a new double box through crimp through , or if your fitting a double socket could you use a twin it

To cut a hole the correct size in the back box to fit the imperial conduit is my guess

What has having knockouts in the back got to do with it?
There's nothing difficult about drilling a standard back box, just fix a bit of plate over the knockouts to give a good connection.

it was Just an idea there are many different ways to do it ,I did not think of your wayI supposed you could just use a metal box lid and bolt it to the back box

From what the OP has said he wants to change the back box to a 2 gang which has 20mm but wants it to have 16mm knockouts
