Hi chaps,

I appreciate this has probably been discussed many times...

I have always put on my emergency lighting test certificates either maintained, non-maintained or if both types are present, combined followed by the most common fitting (m or nm...) hope that makes sense. Anyway, can someone please tell me if thats the correct way to fill it in, and if not, a definition of modes 2-6?

Thanks v much... I did spend a few minutes looking for an existing thread with the same question, but got tired of searching...

No Idea, We just use forms based on the IET's model forms as can be found in The Electricians guide to Emergency lighting.

That as far as I've just skim read doesn't state anything about 2 - 6 codes?

I will add that I don't normally write certificates due to my colleague Paul having got a ICEL (or what ever it is) Emergency Lighting Qualification

Broadly, that's acceptable - so long as each fitting is identified by type (either M or NM) and it's common to put the duration rating on the cert too.

The 2-6 definitions were initially designed to make things easier......and nobody uses them.
