Need some advise,

Carried out a Periodic Inspection on friday and the main earth conductor and the main Bonding to the steel was in fine stranded cable. Never come across this before and cant find anything in the regs to say if its wrong or not, so just wanted to check if anyone knows for sure if fine stranded cable is OK or not for Main Earthing.

Cheers

that was my question. sounds like it may be radox cable .

CSA is 25mm and it's copper. it looks like they've just chucked in left overs from another job.

bit more info - TNCS 100A 3ph supply with 25mm solid stranded copper tails. (standard tails).

good point lenny , should have a crimped lug on it and not wrapped round the earth clamp like so many are

cheers guys, just never seen it used this way before.

yeah Lenny it's not terminated properly, that's observation 3 of 25! (mostly 1's & 2's!!!!!)

Only a fool would rap a fine multi cored cable around a screw terminal!! In my opinion, any termination involving fine multi cored cable requires a propriety crimped type connection, be it ferrule or lug etc....
