Discuss Smoke alarms - Complete rewire - Cannot find any regulations/law in the Electrical Wiring, Theories and Regulations area at ElectriciansForums.net

Hang fire, why have building control been notified of the rewire and coming out to check it? Am I missing something here... Presumably there's other building work going on?
Its not building control, it was a scam inspector.....as Murdoch has pointed out, its always a good safety point to recommend detection on a rewire. But there is no given rule to do so

Sorry I missed that bit. I think it's a good idea to have them, my dad did 35 years in the fire service so it's been beaten in to me quite hard. Anyone who doesn't want them on a rewire is a fool IMHO.

It reads to me as though it's not even a scam inspector, just another sparks who is registered who has been paid to sign off the work if the OP who isn't registered. Completely not allowed under part P of course.

oh, but it is. if op has paid labc the exhorbitant fee, they then get a scam registered spark to sign the work off. said spark probably a Electrical Trainee who knows less about electrics than the qualified but not scam member spark who installed it.
