Right 10mm cable at board for shower on 40A MCB.

Connecting live to MCB and ******* screw comes out, then another screw comes out from inside same hole? What the hell, gonna smash the fuse board up, stressing me out, all I want is my live connecting up and it can't because screw WILL NOT go on to thread!!

How do I get the MCB off? I can see a white tab thing at bottom, pulled it down with screw driver but still the MCB will not pop out, top of mcb is also split were I tried forcing screw out!!

I am so Pee'd off with it!!!

HELP quick please

Thanks

Hi.

You may need to drop the busbar out of the bottom of the MCB's. What make of board is it If it is a Crabtree Starbreaker then there is no busbar there will be a stub coming out of the back of the MCB which slots into a busbar rail running along the back. If it is one of these then gently lever the breaker off with a screwdriver.

Just leave it mate and call a sparks. If you're that worked up you will end up doing something silly:eek:You didn't say if you were an electrician:confused:

Brut force and stressing won't solve a thing, youre going to break something. Strip the whole lot out and start from there. If you try to sort it in a confined space and not being able to see the pinch clamps you will just make the situation worse. Sounds like your 40A breaker is us now anyway

Whats the panick mate, all the above are right, but DONT panick, things like this do happen, you have most likely un-done the terminal screw to far, and lennys right possiblbly you drop the bus-bar flip the white tag at the bootom and hey presto the mcb will come out, then calmly look at it to see if you have damaged the terminal threads and before putting back just try a gash piece of 10mm and see if it tightens up, then put back, shouldn,t be a problem mate, stay calm, you would be no good on the titanic panickin like that.
