In the near future, I will be having my living room re-plastered. Before this is done, I am considering getting a grid switch installed to isolate three double sockets. The reason for this is that it is a pain to switch off these sockets, which are located in a built-in TV wall cabinet. Would this be an option? The current sockets are on a 20A radial circuit.

Yes. But it doesn’t need to be a grid switch.

A switched fuse spur would suffice, 13A fuse will be fine for just a few sockets.

Thinking… are these on a 20a radial from the board, or spurred from a ring circuit?

Hi Thank for the reply,

These are on a 20a radial direct from the board.

Well, yes a switch fuse, or a double pole switch. Can be just a switch plate… doesn’t need to be built from a grid

Thanks, that seem a better option. Thought I'd ask the question before asking for a installation quote.
