Discuss Fixed Appliance Testing Problems in the Electrical Testing & PAT Testing Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

Had similar recently. Washing machine and dishwasher under Worktops. Floor had been tiled and couldn't pull them out. FCUs tiled around and siliconed around. Customer didn't want any of it disturbed. Decided to carry out some ring final tests and IR the kitchen ring at CU with all other loads removed. Not perfect but sometimes a case of best endeavours. Had a clear result, no need to investigate further.

10 years ago when I did my kitchen out I fitted a sheet of 600x600x15mm ply in the space where the dishwasher and washing machine then put down a laminated floor and I have had 2 replace both recently ie slide out then back in so why cant a stupid kitchen fitter do the same

Then you obviously dont give your PAT customers any form of detailed certification cause if you did you would know that a modern PAT records each appliance and allows you to download it on to a PDF for the customers records...cant do that with a Megger!!

Detailed certification doesn't require pat testers, downloads or PDFs. Just MFT, pen and paper cert. Sometimes I get the abacus out for calculations or to tot up the invoice :)

I can with my Megger PAT tester.
