Here's a nice one, made me chuckle this morning...

Talking to a maintenance lad this morning, a decent lad, really really chatty to the point of annoyance but anyway...he got talking too me and asking me questions about being an electrician, he then went on to say that his dad was a sparks and he sometimes helps out and he would like to do it as a career...all very well, gave him a few tips and what to expect from college ( to the best of my knowledge ) his next line was the real deal though...

"i was helping my dad re-wire a small terrace house a couple of months back, it's amazing how many bodge jobs are about...we had to rip all the sockets out because they were fed 1 to another and not back in a loop off a 20a breaker"

Your dad's an electrician was my thought, but instead i said there was nothing wrong with it - it's a radial. He replied his dad said it wasn't safe blah blah blah.

LOL comes to mind.

Which sadly just goes to prove there's a lot of cr4p sparks out there irrespective of training background.

There are good and bad in every trade, unfortunately. How often do you work on an installation and think "That electrician did a really good job"?.....You don't have to answer that.
