Hello All
I am currently doing the electrics for an en-suite conversion to a wet-room for a family member.
They want 6 no. 230Vac recessed spotlights, a shaver point, extractor fan/light, shower mixer valve and underfloor heating.
Having spent many hours on my knee's in the attic connecting the spotlights using those Hager down-lighter junction boxes, clipping neatly and using the strain-relief clamps to ensure its all compliant.
My plan with the FCU for the shower mixer and the extractor fan 3 pole switch is to position them above the entrance door inside the bathroom (outside zones 0,1 or 2) as this makes the easily accessible, yet out of the way, and of course most importantly compliant with the current wiring Regs.
My stepson has just told me he wants the shower mixer valve FCU and the extractor fan 3-pole switch positioned in the attic! is that compliant/good practice?
Not too sure about the underfloor heating - my thoughts are to position the control box flushed into the bathroom stud wall at about 1200 affl and connect the tail from the underfloor heating routing it through the stud wall, I plan to to spur off an existing socket from the bedroom next door so it would have to be fed via an FCU right?
Anyone done anything similar?
