Hi all

Have joined the forum, for seven years was qualified in south africa as electrician (down there we use term wireman). have moved back for family reasons.
The sytems are basically the same but slight differences with some voltages etc..
Looking to switch to UK system and to begin with as i need an income will be going down the ever so popluar DI route before i can get my qualifications recognised and do my AM2 and NVQ dossier if needed.

If you have SA qualifications get them checked and compared to UK quals by https://www.naric.org.uk/naric/

Thanks for that I have been looking into getting them recognised but there are so many conflicting views out there.

Also a lot of companies happy to take your money before letting you down and saying they can not help.

I am talking to a person at a near by college as they are willing to let me come in just to sit some tests/exams to get the 2365 l2/3 that jib want. i just have to pay the exam fees. I am happy to build up a portfolio in my own time for the nvq3 as jib told me they wont recognise my SA quals as they are
