Hi fellas. I'm pricing a job in deepest Cornwall which is around 100 metres from the sea. Obviously sea mist will be an issue and I wondered what panels you were using to negate this issue. I am looking at Day 4 panels but these seem a little overpriced. Any advice is welcome.

I would have said Day4. Its strange that theys are overpriced at the moment, I priced a job with these a few months ago (bout 6) and they seemed to be similar in price to the other mid-priced modules such as schott. It seems the price has dropped off on other modules and they have'nt followed yet.

ETA: I've not heard much about schott in terms of sea mist but I've always been impressed by their decent build quality.

I knew about Schott and the amonia resistance but not about their sea mist resistance. Are they certified?

Just heard that the hyundi 250w has sea mist cert. Not had a look at the module though, good price but I dont know much else at the moment.

We have been using Schott Poly's near the coast but thinking of changing to Hyundai Mono His S250MG as they have salt mist cert. Not seen one in the flesh but i can't fault anything about them from the data sheet.

what more wobbly than sharp's? their frames aren't great.

i havent used one as when i looked at one just felt a bit flimsy, agreed @saint sharp panels too, probaly me just being pedantic

We got caught with Sharp panels, went skiing right to the edge of the roof when the wind caught one of the panels and we tried to hang on to it - scary stuff!

I could suggest some quality panels from Philadelphia Solar. A quote from their website:

Philadelphia Solar PV panel frames are treated with the very latest PVDF coating. Far more advanced than classic anodized coating this technique offers more than double the performance of anodized coatings in gloss protection, colour retention, chemical resistance, salt spay and humid conditions, and cleanability.

Available from Renewable Technologies in Norfolk.
