What does anyone think the maximum period between period inspection on holiday cottages should be?

Guidance note 3 is not too clear. I'm sure there are many installations which don't drop into the catagories as detailed in Table 3.2

My best suggestion is "Restaurants and Hotels", or "Residential" both of which is 5 years this however seems a long time to me, any thought?

In my experience, this situation calls for a Routine check to be completed once per year as in table 3.2 of guidance note 3 and a full PIR every 5 years. Look at the top of table 3.2 above heading 2 it also says to look at sub clause 3.5 which points out on page 61 the checks to be carried out during routine checks.
you are correct that 5 years is too long and that is why we do routine checks in the interim period which don't take as long as they are not as in depth.:)
Hope this was helpful:cool:
