Hi
This is my first thread so Hi!:smile5:

I have a job where I have to run a supply to a PDU in a data hall. (a 48v large panel board)
The parameters are load 1250amp,48v DC, 1% VOLT DROP, preferably using HO7 singles in parallel

Could anyone help with the design or give me the calcs information,

Cheers
BILLY

Show us your calcs and what you think you should be using then we will either help you along or express your well out of your depth...

We don't offer a free calculation service and as you haven't provided anything like enough info i suggest you are not sure what the relevant info we need to calculate this is so as above we can only conclude you are not yet competent enough to take on this job... unless you provide all the relevant info we would need with a proposed calculation then im out!

May i add with your Qualification list you should be the one giving a helping hand to others so a little confused why you are asking such a question?

Please elaborate more about the job and your concerns with all requested info to do the calcs.

IF the OP is registered with the EngC as he claims and a member of the IET, then, IF he is undertaking work he is not competent to do, which the OP "suggests" then his registration and membership can be terminated due to malpractice.
As he would be in breach of his membership & registration conditions.

Sure, I'll design this project for you foc.

On another note I seem to have lost my medication.

If you're determined, have a look at Eland website. They give current capacity and derating factors. You don't mention distance, so VD can't even be guessed at. Cable size is going to be hefty, and terminating will require some equipment that's not run of the mill. Why not get someone experienced in this type of work to do the job, add a bit on for yourself and watch what they do?

If your qualifications are legitimate:

You would know that it is impossible for us help you with such limited info.
