On my way home every night I pass a house in the countryside which has a wind turbine in the garden which stands approx 30 feet high, I was just wondering if anyone could tell me if this wind turbine's output is AC or DC?

Which is? Most green energy stuff I've come across is DC via an inverter with phase sync.same was as ALL AC is connected to the mains...!
Did you used to work on the fairground rides by any chance :wink5:croc clips.
Err, that's an MV system, don't think it'll be one of them at the bottom of a garden.
no, but we had a useful lamp post next to the front window.Did you used to work on the fairground rides by any chance :wink5:

Yep, that's why I plumped for DC for a smaller model. I've not seen any standalone AC->AC phase sync tech for grid hook up.first thing google showed up...!!
it will be a ssimilar set up though as you say with rectifiers, invertors and phase sync..
