Hi all
anyone got a good way of cleaning the the contacts inside socket assemblies I am constantly removing and re-inserting tester to get decent readings this has only happened since I started using my new tester Metrel MI3002 maybe the plug pins are crap who knows, so short of stuffing a file in them any one got a solution

If the sockets your testing are creating a resistance it might be worth changing the sockets ( providing the test plug isnt duff

Hi
I have in the past changed up to 5 socket outlets in one house as I could not get reliable readings I took these home and stripped them and the contacts were sort of greasy and coated in dust and fluff So I thought maybe a pre clean of sockets would work, the failed sockes were used very little, behind furniture and the like,
i wondered if there was a spray cleaner I could use with a soft abrasive pad I could push into the pin openings, mind you it maybe quicker to change the outlets
