I have a customer who has sent me a picture of an outlet/socket (unknown) in a house he has just purchased, but I don't recognise it. From a second pic it looks like the cable behind is a single 1.5mm or 1mm T&E. I'll go round and have a look later in the week and trace the cable if necessary, but currently my interest has been peaked and I'd like to know now!

Sorry about poor quality sent to me via mobile phone.

Thanks in advance!

Joe

I forget the make but I remember ripping some out while serving my time, it had a big rocker in the middle of that plate and was a light switch.
That one's obviously ancient and buggered.

I think its a chinese man upside down and spying from behind a blank plate

What was the brass pin in the middle for? ~Just an earth connection?

That was where the plug had a thumbscrew on it to hold the plug in

These points were often found above fireplaces or in kitchens above doors ..

Have also seen then on wall above or to the side of windows for the old window mounted fans as well,,

Had an identification beacon on the airfield in Germany that used to require a sharp smack on the top right hand side of the control cabinet with a hammer to get it going every few weeks

I haven't seen it for around 41 years and was wondering if its still working ?

Do you have the same problems with borrowed neutrals as we do on with our 'landing' lights? :)
