Sorry if this is a stupid question - but does it damage the panels at all if the system is turned off for quite a long time - i.e panels in full sun, but disconnected for several hrs? I can't see why, but thought I'd check with you knowledgeable people.

We will be having some other electrical work carried out soon and I assume they are going to want to turn off the array for a time.

No problem, just isolate the AC isolator as normal, assuming he won't be messing the the DC side or inverter (he shouldn't be).
 
Thanks, couldn't see why they would be harmed - but thought it worth checking.

No not touching it, nothing to do with PV array, just I assume a need to cut power to the house electrics
