can anyone tell me if this is a correct way of thinking

i have 6 Cleaners outlets off a !6a rcd, total run length is 55m

6mm feed to first point is 30m would give me voltage drop of .78% (using half the breaker load according to exception 1 on page 163 of as 3000:2018)

then run a 2.5mm for the remaining 25m giving me a voltage drop of 1.56% (same exception)

total voltage drop of 2.34% ( i need to be under 3 for this installation)

my main question being is it acceptable to break gauge considering the breaker protects the 2.5mm cable as i cant seem to find it in the rule book

in assume you mean a 16A MCB with RCD protection or RCBO. fine as long as the breaker is sized according to the smallest cable on the circuit.
