Hi,

I knocked over an LED lightbox and the fall broke the pin out of the female DC socket. I can solder so If I could find the same part I could fix it, but I can't find the part. I'm no electrician so don't really know where to look or what other avenues are open to me.

Could somebody have a look at the photos and advise on what I can do? The Socket is the black thing that overhangs the board in the top corner next to the silver metal thing (heat sink?), its 5mm in diameter.

Thanks

i'd suggest maplins or cpc.

I can't find one that is the same size it looks to me like I should be looking for a 5mm diameter but can't find one.

Could I just get one that is a different size and change the male socket on the plug? Also if the wires that connect the socket to the PCB don't line up exactly with the holes in the PCB can I leave the wires a bit longer and bend them into the holes? Just worried as this is power supply and it needs to be firmly connected to the board otherwise I won't be able to push the power lead into it.
